They are especially useful, as all of us sometimes happen to blank out when we have a question in front of us. This course package is delivered either in Lumen OHM, or can be imported into your LMS . This course also contains video examples created by James Sousa (mathispower4u.com). This course is worth 3 credit hours toward the Mathematical Studies General Studies requirement at Arizona State University.
Solve optimization problems with emphasis on business and social sciences applications. Apply calculus to solve business, economics, and social sciences problems. Calculate partial derivatives of simple functions of two variables, and apply them to solve optimization problems, compute marginal productivity, and interpret three-dimensional graphics. Videos that are used in an online Business Calculus course. The videos covers limits, derivatives, marginal analysis, integration, applications of integration, and partial derivatives.
Derivatives and integrals of polynomial, rational, exponentials, and logarithmic functions with applications to business, economics, and social sciences. A TI graphing calculator (83/84) is required for this class. Credit will be granted for either Quantitative or Natural Sciences distribution but not both. For example, in business calculus you will see ideas like marginal analysis where you use tools like derivatives, cost functions, and revenue functions to really understand a business situation. It is rare that this would be covered directly in other calculus courses. Instead, students in a calc 1 class will see the occasional application problem but it might relate to a variety of applications like physics or engineering.

We partner with both RedShelf and VitalSource to provide day-one access to students through campus bookstores.
Limits – this is all about understanding the behavior of functions f as they approach certain values of x. You will be finding limits using graphs and using algebraic techniques. When possible, it is very convenient to define relationships using formulas.
